[The trip was financed and accomplished, successfully!!!]

Recently the Big Spring High School band received the exciting news that they have been invited to perform in Carnegie Hall in New York City next summer—June 6. 2006. This is the first time in history the band has received this honor.

School officials were notified of the honor by the Debut Series for Young Groups. Band Director Rocky Harris had submitted a recording of the group’s 2004 Spring Concert, which qualified them for the trip to New York.

The trip comes with a price tag of approximately $400,000.00, which translates to about $1700.00 for each member of the 150-piece band plus sponsors.

The students will be doing their best to raise the money with concerts, bake sales, car washes, etc. The community is asked to contribute and we thought all you exes students would want to do your part, too.
