James Edward Brooks James Edward Brooks died January 18, 2011 in Austin, Texas. He was born November 18, 1928 in Big Spring, Texas to Judge and Mrs. James T. Brooks. He attended Howard County Jr. College, Texas Tech University, North Texas University and the University of Texas at Austin. James was an architect and an artist who had worked in Austin since 1967. He married Jo Jackson Brooks in 1961. James is survived by his wife and three children, Meg, Shannon and Jason Brooks; his granddaughter, Bridget Brady, and niece and nephew David and Janet Byrnes. He took wonderful care of not only his wife and children but also of his grandmother, his mother and his sister. James will be remembered for his kindness and his love for his family and friends. We will also remember watching the enjoyment he found in inventing and building things and drawing and painting. He had a wonderful creative mind and a dry sense of humor. We will miss him very much. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 22nd at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery. Obituary and memorial guestbook available online at www.wcfish.com
